no no, he needs fuel to feed his paranoia.  his world would crumble if he realized it wasn't quite the horrible, scary place he makes it out to be.

all gays are being lynched!  all residents of DC are being continually shot!  all aid money is being embezzled!  the whole world is made of bacon!  etc...

Thank you, Sweets. You just saved me a rant.

If he truly got what I said, he would have understood that I did not say that homophobia did not exist but that the whole world isn't 'out to get them'. These days, closet salesmen are hurting for business... and that's a good thing.

but freddie was gay.  people hate gay people.

Get over it Walkie. You're living in the past. Thankfully, that statement isn't anywhere near as true as it once was.

Actually, he's living in rural Virginia, you're living in suburban Baltimore, and best I can tell, Sweetcell pretty much spends his life on U Street.

That probably explains your perceived differences in attitudes towards gays.

Queen - "Fat Bottomed Girls"

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VMnjF1O4eH0

video lacks fat bottomed girls.

One of my favorite records of the last decade came from Splitsville, a little heard band outside of the power pop scene.  Anyways, you can tell the band members grew up listening to Queen, KISS, The Beatles, Beach Boys etc, but they were able to bring those influences together and still create a sound of their own.  They also recorded the best Coldplay/Keane song I've ever heard.

which album?  the first?  and which is the Coldplay/Keane song you speak of?

One of Freddie Mercury's gifts was his ability to be absurdly flamboyant and theatrical but to emote Humanity rather than gayness - he captured and released feelings that transcended the banality of sexual preference.

yeah . . . he hid his gayness to the point of not ruining the band, that not even brian may knew.  now that's transcedence.

Not to dwell on it, but wasn't Freddie bisexual rather than gay?
