sounds like U2, with a weaker singer

I just listened to them for the first time cuz this album got reviewed on pitchfork today, but I can't stop listening to a few of these songs.

The War on Drugs - Slave Ambient

So good.

Supposedly, Kevin Shields and Paul Weller are joining forces to make something of their own. Don't know if it's only one song or maybe even an entire album. Don't have a clue when this might actually see the light of day but I'm just putting it in here for now. Not up for creating a 2013 thread yet! Hopefully, Paul will keep on Kevin's ass enough to allow this work to come to some sort of fruition.

Didn't see this anywhere, but the Black Keys will have a new album by the end of the year:

"it's inspired by the Clash, the Cramps, and old rock'n'roll, rockabilly, and garage rock records."

Supposedly the recording is finished and is being remixed.

Their last record was their best in a little while, IMO.

What the hell ever happened to Relaxer?

What the hell ever happened to the Essex Green? I still like that Cannibal Sea a lot and continue to demand a worthy follow-up.

i made him mad when he posted that steve jobs photo awhile ago, and i went all wtf on him . . . and then kosmo sealed the deal by removing the picture.  it was too much for him to take.  he's a loner, a rebel.  like pee wee.
