And I think Alejandro Escovedo is planning on doing his annual Sunday night show there, although it's not an official SXSW event.
 

do you know this for sure? thats would be very good news if he's finally getting well enough to play gigs again

I don't know for sure, but on his website a while ago it said that he was hoping to return to performing then. He's been out of action for a while now, hopefully he's well rested and ready to rock.

Not really. The festival is the 17th-21st, and it looks like they're playing Austin on the 16th, then continuing through Texas...

I bought their album for fifty cents the other day. I recognize they have some talent, but christ, they are just too santana/stevie ray vaughan-ish for me. Hopefully I'll turn a nice profit selling the cd to another store.
