Label party info.

If my evenings don't allow me to catch the Constantines, I'll check this out:

 Friday, March 19
2-7 PM Club Deville in Austin, TX 900 Red River Street
 Insound 5 Year Anniversary Party
 Featuring:
 Trans Am
 American Analog Set
 The Constantines
 French Kicks

$2 for rock, snacks and all the beer you can drink.

And I think Alejandro Escovedo is planning on doing his annual Sunday night show there, although it's not an official SXSW event.

do you know this for sure? thats would be very good news if he's finally getting well enough to play gigs again

I don't know for sure, but on his website a while ago it said that he was hoping to return to performing then. He's been out of action for a while now, hopefully he's well rested and ready to rock.

Not really. The festival is the 17th-21st, and it looks like they're playing Austin on the 16th, then continuing through Texas...

Shit, that's more good free stuff in three days than DC sees in three months.

I bought their album for fifty cents the other day. I recognize they have some talent, but christ, they are just too santana/stevie ray vaughan-ish for me. Hopefully I'll turn a nice profit selling the cd to another store.

Yo Grotty, you got any new info on a New West Records day party?

That showcase at La Zona Rosa is going to be packed, especially now that Dwight Yoakum has been added..
