Crystal ball says....

"FUCKING AWESOME!!!"  (If you're a geezer.)

"It was okay but got boring and noodley. A bit derivative (of The Smiths  ;D)." (From the youngens who only know him to be ancient history.)

"Too many TALKERS in the crowd!!!!" (By all.)

I wonder if Zak Starkey is still his drummer.  His show at the Blackcat several years ago was pretty good as I recall.  Show wasn't great great, but at least the buzz is his new album is good..

I was definitely underwhelmed by the Johnny Marr concert at the Black Cat a few years ago.  Zak was indeed the drummer and played well, but like he was in an arena backing the Who. Way too loud.  Marr's guitar playing was good, but the songs were blah and his voice was unmemorable. It was all a big let down, for sure.

i just heard a new song of his on the radio and it wasn't as bad as I thought it would be..  he sings and it was upbeat. And from some of the setlist from 2011 it looks like he does some smiths songs.

Wish that Phoenix were heading their own MPP date or even  FreeFest appearence, instead of the Sweetlife festival.  Lots of ho-hum acts playing before they hit the stage, but more crowded them playing by themselves.  Does the Sweetlife festival extend in area like the FreeFest?

And what's up with Instagram presale nonsense.

Not sure why Phoenix gets top billing...I think kids are more familiar with Passion Pit and YYYs.

I was thinking a similar thought, I would prefer Yeah Yeah Yeahs to headline their own show at MPP.

I don't think so..I think Phoenix is way bigger.. that last album took a life of its own and kept selling and being spread around...

Remember Phoenix sold out DAR pretty quick and that was years ago.
