Hopefully their new music is good.  The Mars Volta always sucked.  Sparta sucked after two albums (the first was amazing, second was pretty good).  Maybe the reunion will spark some good tunes.  Maybe it will be just crap plus crap...

Edit: RE the Mars Volta... I have not listened to them since Frances the Mute (did not really care for it or De-Loused) so maybe I would like their later stuff... My tastes have changed/evolved in the last decade since that album came out and I have not revisited either album I have already heard/own.

is this like in your opinion mahnnnn?

oh..well.. opinions are like assholes..everyone's got one.

the first album was pretty good.. the tremulant ep was killer... they put on a great show too (saw them at the showbox in seattle)...

they're not my kind of music.. but I wouldn't go so  far as to say they suck!

Most people who hear TMV say they suck, its pretty humorous haha. System of A Down's fb recently put up an image of a poster from when TMV opened for them and the comments section lit up with hatred for them. I am a fan of Cedric and Omar is whatever they do. I really loved the first two albums and Tremulant. All their other albums are pretty good too. The live one is pretty bad though haha.

I agree with the Sparta assessment. Wiretap Scars is a classic to me. Porcelain was good too. Threes only had like 2-3 good songs the rest sounded like U2. Austere EP was great as well. I would enjoy seeing Sparta again one day down the line.

Well since Walkie said it is THE END... it must be!
(although I'm suspicious of a 1 comma post, comma coma maybe?

Okay, how did I miss the Peter Hook announcement?

Did I miss the Peter Hook announcement?
Howard Theatre, Nov. 23, 2016

Yes.
I think he's gotten more confident in what he's presenting and feels more natural being in the spotlight.

There is pretty much no chance that show will sell out right?
and it's all GA

and someone please tell me why they are billing it as ....An Evening with
Can't it just be Peter Hook and the Light

also first time to the Howard...
Can I buy tickebasturd-feeless tickets at the doors (sans fees?)

General Admission - Standing Room
Limited Seating Available First Come, First Served

So what's the deal here, is it set up like the State Theater?

? $10 Minimum Per Person, For All Tables

lame, but it's actually pretty hard not to spend more than $10 if you are sitting an people can bring you drinks

there is no chance the show will sell out.. there is a chance if nobody buys their tickets ahead of time that the show will be cancelled...there is also a good chance this show will end up on goldstar I think

you still pay fees even if you buy at the box.. maybe less but still noticeable...

its a really nice place.. I don't know anything about the tables as whenever I've gone (only twice) I've been on the floor...

I'm not sure what show you're referring to, but I wish every show was "An Evening With".

Yeah, if a band is going "An Evening With. . ." and plays for 75 minutes, that's one thing. If they go "An Evening With. . ." and do multiple full sets, that's totally different.

As for the Pumpkins show, it's being billed as "an electro-acoustic evening". So buyer beware.
