British independent music labels said Wednesday they had suffered a "disaster" after rioters torched a Sony-owned distribution centre in London and destroyed their entire CD stocks. ....  But it also houses stock for around 150 independent music labels such as XL and Domino, who are behind acts including Grammy-winning British singer Adele and rockers Arctic Monkeys.

"This is a disaster for the music community," said Alison Wenham, who chairs Britain's Association of Independent Music.

i fear the evictions will only make things worse.  the rioters are already marginalized from society & don't see a future for themselves.  they're generally poor and won't be able to afford non-subsidized housing.  if you think those people are angry now, just wait 'til they're homeless.

on the other hand, they won't be able to afford so many cell phone so maybe that will discourage the organization of riots through social media.
