nope, interpreting our agreement on to the current situation leads to the conclusion that ending the pool and splitting the winnings is what's is expected, IMO.  the mulligan/final-five-let-it-roll scenario, while clearly more interesting, is the stretch here.  in this case, i like stretching.

also, i wanted to write "his hoyaness".

My suggestion of letting it roll was, of course, incumbent on all parties agreeing to do so.

And I am pretty sure no chance in hell is a friend of mine. He just won my wife's family's survival pool with that NWE pick. He won't be getting a Christmas card this year.

I'm in a $20 loser pool with 250+ people.  Just about everybody picked Seattle to lose

Bloodbath in the losers pool this week too. The 75 people that didn't pick Seattle to lose in week two were eliminated this week. I had the Jets.  99 people left...

Yes, all parties will have to agree. I'll think about our options and post something we can vote on tomorrow. Feel free to post your ideas here. If you'd like anonymity feel free to send me an email v a n s m a c k @ m s n.  C o m

Well Seattle just broke a lot of hearts and caused Vegas to piss themselves. Manning choked big time.
This is what I get for picking an NFC East team. On the plus side, the Giants AND the Eagles lost.

HAIL!

Eliminated in Week 4

SweetPicks* (NYG)
Hoya Paranoia*  (NYG)
ggw*+  (NYG)
vansmack*+  (NYG)
Shadrach  (NYG)
Child Please*  (NYG)
The Sonick Team  (NYG)
Crump's Brother  (NYG)
D.C. Snipers (PHI)

Picks

2 - New England
8 - New York giants
1 - Philadelphia Eagles

In the $5 Pool:

troy godamalu (godsshoesine)
no chance in hell

Still fighting on to be the overall pool winner.

In the $1000 Pool:

vansmack and ggw split Seth's $1000, though I suspect a resolution will be reached shortly to roll this debt over as all three parties have clearly demonstrated that they possess a small gambling problem.

In the $100 pool:

SweetPicks*, Hoya Paranoia*, ggw*, vansmack* and Child Please* all split the losses of Seth, Venerable and eros for a total of $60 each.  See my next post for your voting options.

This cracked me up to read back:

We lose people next week, guaranteed.

I'm not so sure about that, at least for the $100 pool.

OPTIONS FOR MEMBERS OF THE $100 POOL.

I am happy to roll this $300 pot over into another pool, but all parties must agree first, so please cast your vote either in this thread or send me an email on the following options.

A new pool:

(1) Will be closed to the 5 winners and wipe the slate clean on all teams picked (I can't change part 2).

Yes or No?

(2) Allow the three losers to buy back in for $100 and wipe the slate clean on all teams picked?  This would mean that if Seth, Venerable or eros were to win, you would forfeit the original $20 of the winner, but still get the original $40 from the 2 losers.  For example, if all three were to buy back in and Seth were to win, he would win $900 (counting his $200), and the remaining $200 is split among the 5 of us (or $40 each, reducing your debt to $60).

Yes or No?

You can vote "Yes" on both measures.  Both require 5 yes votes to pass.

#2 would trump #1 if both receive 5 votes
#1 can happen with 5 votes if #2 fails to receive 5 votes.
#1 not receiving 5 votes means we split the $300, and no new pool.

There is no #3 option to roll the $800 into a new pool and let the others buy back in, winner take all, because I'm already voting "no" on it.

SC sez:

#1 YES
#2 no

i'm also in favor of paying out the $60 winnings to the 5 semi-survivalists, and starting fresh & anew.  anyone could join then, and the math would be a lot simpler.

i don't like the idea of wiping the "teams chosen" slate clean . . . is there anyway to avoid this?

And yes, my "I don't think we lose anybody in the $100 pool" seems so clairvoyant now.  Bummer I didn't head to Vegas this weekend.

No.  I can't change that on the site and it would be a nightmare to enforce further in the season.

Your commissioner is willing to do advanced banking skills, but he is not willing to check everybody's picks each week AFTER they're already up and be forced to eliminate someone if they incorrectly picked a team twice.

This is essentially what happens if #1 fails...
