Nobody mentions the awful sound at the Blowtel or how shady Steve Lambert is.

Only thing I found backwards was saying Shaw was upcoming after Columbia Heights...kinda backwards...

Other than that, they pretty much got it all!

There is a post about the Blowtel's awful sound on this board at least once a week not by me.
I'll give you that the shady Lambert thing is not as big a complaint.

I think it's hilarious. Funny how not much has changed. Some of these things have been said for the past 25 years; therefore, I don't think everyone knows about Blowtel, azag, sorry.;)

I once debated Anacostia - in DC or MD?

They did mention the Blowtel and said it was "intimate." But yeah, over all, hilarious.

I agree that this encompasses a broader age spectrum. Still funny though.

May have missed it because it was so fast and multi-faceted and I didn't feel like going through it again to see if this just got by me but here's something that I've long noticed that often gets mentioned in DC.

Whenever there's some sort of march, protest or some other sort of rally that the entire world may be discussing, instead of hearing the locals talking about the subject of the rally, more often than not, it seems that instead, they bitch about the traffic congestion that gathering will cause.

Of course, if that gathering is a massive concert, all bets are off. Though traffic does find its way into the talk, instead, it's about the best way to get to or from the Mall or site holding the event. But, true to form, not much at all about the purpose for the concert. Just what bands and their set times.

Yes, because traffic congestion affects everyone, regardless of lame ass clause, moron. Rallying is lame anyway.

Perfect example of the asshole side of DC... which is not all of DC, thankfully.

I would say that 99.99 of marches in DC, "the entire world" is not discussing.   Maybe the entire world of US-based protest bloggers.   And yes their biggest and only impact is generally that they fuck up the efforts of thousands of working stiffs to get home, so complaining about the commute is a legit activity.
