I really enjoyed Solidsoundfestival last weekend.
Wilco played Being There in its entirety, and then an encore of YHF in its entirety on Friday. Was really great, and the YHF part was unexpected.
Saturday was a strong Wilco set with nothing from Being There or YHF.
Sunday was a good Tweedy/Jeff Tweedy solo (and friends) set.
other standouts:
The Berkshires Weather
The Dave/Phil Alvin band
Peter Wolf
Nancy & Beth
Television
Deep Sea Diver
Bagley Family
Big Thief (only saw the acoustic "pop-up" set)
Great art at Mass Moca

The festival is small, really well-run, and very kid-friendly as well.

Being There followed by YHF would have been amazing.

in case anyone doesn't do bit torrent downloads, an alternate recording is up on NYCTaper, you can do a direct download or just stream it from there.....

Isbell and the Goat Hunderd Unit was great.
The VIP (no-walrus environment sightings) area is coming together nicely.
Hoping for a proper headlining Goats show at 9:30 in the fall.

I thought the Mountain Goats didn't translate well in that big space.. but I expected it.

A friend commented: "we've located the intersection of NASCAR and NPR people in one show" (Jason Isbell's audience)

Great triple bill last night at The Howard:   Rare Essence, E.U., TroubleFunk.    Any set order amongst those three woulda been fine, so the whole evening was worth it from start to finish.    Marketing said it was the first time these three have been together in like 20+ years, which I don't necessarily believe, but whatever, cool trivia.
Of course a 70-min-past-stated-time start...     Fantastic beats, really nice crowd.

If the joke is that the intersection of NPR and NASCAR is Goats (NPR) and Isbell (NASCAR), I think that the intersection is actually at every Isbell show. No opener needed.

Goats from the pit area was good.

You said it. He attracts both NPR and NASCAR people.

https://www.setlist.fm/setlist/violent-femmes/2017/930-club-washington-dc-7be46ed0.html\

The Violent Femmes were so good last night.  I thought they sounded great and seemed like they were having a lot of fun (when I could actually see them, they drew a crowd that was both older and VERY tall).

My favorite songs of the night; Country Death Song, Jesus Walking on the Water, Old Mother Reagan, Gimme the Car, Color Me Once (I am on my way to see the whole soundtrack to the Crow live at this rate; I've already seen the Cure and Helmet's contributions live), Gone Daddy Gone, Black Girls, and Add it Up.

It was a great way to end the weekend.  I had not had a two night stand at the 930 Club in a long time (I was also at Mitski the night before).  I did not see any boardies, but I did see some friends and a former coworker.

Edit: Ava Mendoza playing lead guitar on a few tracks was awesome.

Amazes me how "bands" drop members and nobody notices or cares...no Victor Delorenzo...
