Rilo Kiley sounded great, but I felt like seeing them live didn't add much to the experience. Don't get me wrong, Jennifer is still indie crush worthy but I could have enjoyed them just as much while doing housework or laying on the couch making out with my wife.

But anyway, I'm sure y'all six want to see this picture.

Good meeting you, Hutch. Albeit briefly, as you were obviously in an official capacity. Next time, let's get a beer and you can show me what's in your bag.

Save some babes for the rest of us.

Absolutely scorching set last night from Superchunk.  I mean, you get used to some songs in the encore (Slack, Detroit), but when they brought those out in the main set (and in the case of Detroit, early)...damn.  The new album is great and the songs sounded amazing.  I think this setlist is right, though I'm still a bit bleary eyed from a late night: https://www.setlist.fm/setlist/superchunk/2025/black-cat-washington-dc-6b4762ee.html

I was hyped to see Tee Vee Repairman and they did not disappoint.  That album was one of my favorites from 2023.  Crowd was eating it up, too.

Wow,  a Mag Fields cover and My Gap Feels Weird!!-one of my faves...  Digging what I hear from the Repairpeople.  Thanks for posting.  Sorry I missed it.

Super fun show last night.  Missed Cinema Hearts...back to school night.  My son's math teacher did have a Sonic Youth poster in his room, which was cool.  He also had an Oasis poster, which was not.

Feel like I've heard of Tchotchke before, but never listened to them.  Really fun set, and a pretty great opener for Hunx.  Their vocal harmonies reminded me of what flowers sound like singing in old cartoons, but I mean that in the best way.  Closed the set with a pretty ripping cover of Egyptian Shumba.

Hunx was a blast.  Short set in a perfect way.  Played maybe half songs from the new album and half older stuff.  Crowd way into it, especially with the wardrobe, uh, changes I guess we'll call it?  My son happened to see me scroll past a story of his on Instagram and told me I was the "gayest straight man in the world".  That might be pretty accurate.

One final note...we all know you don't wear the band's shirt to see the band, etc. etc.  But wearing the shirt of a band member's other band is pretty goofy too.

I think it came out a week or two ago, actually.  About to listen now.  That first one is really catchy!

If you love CVB this is such a treat. All six original band members. One flew in from Sweden and another from Australia. Might be their final show.  Certainly the first time I have seen them all! Molla on accordion definitely a first.
