the Polyphonic Spree in Annapolis

Tickets just went on sale.  I recommend grabbing them sooner than later if anyone wants good seats.  I just bought two at one of the front tables.

Finally made it to the box office when it was open:

Picked up Chelsea Wolfe/Woven Hand
Kurt Vile and
Frank Turner

I was unsure about the frank turner gig (and actually skipped the last one even though I had a ticket), but picked one up anyway.  Only sometimes am I in the mood for him.

Bombay, as a true dead-head, how do you feel about this Dead and Co. shenanigan? You're obviously on board, but how the heck is that going to hold up after what most would say pretty incredible Fare The Well shows.

I'm somewhat intrigued but Bobby is a mess and can hardly carry a tune and John Mayer, while a great blues guitarist, how is he going to fill the shoes of Jerry? I kind of predict a train wreck.

I don't think it's going to come anywhere close to the FTW shows.  However, it seems like Bob has gotten his sh*t together over the last year.  Hopefully, that will hold up.  I don't know much about Mayer other than (as you said) he's supposedly a really good blues guitarist.   I predict he holds his own, but I'm not really expecting anything magical to come out of this.  I think anyone expecting Chicago Part 2 is going to be disappointed.   I just expect it to be a fun time with some good music.  The excitement is back in Deadheadland.  That goes a long way in making a good time out of this.

Chicago was over-the-top fantastic.  From here on out, everything else is just a bonus.

PiL at U St

This could end up being a bigger shitshow than the GOP primaries*, but seeing them at USMH is too good to pass up.

* lol. nothing could be a more momentous shitshow than what's going on right now.
