O's will reportedly save $4M.

Yes, $2m this year and $2M next year assuming they weren't going to exercise his option.  Or, to put that into perspective, ~1.3% of their existing 2017 payroll, otherwise known as a rounding error.

The Mariners grabbed Jarrod Dyson from KC to replace Smith for a young starter, so they played their hand.  Better D and speed for a shot at a comeback season for Gallardo.

Trumbo hitting trumbombs in Baltimore for 3 years, $37.5 million.

O's saved money by him not signing the first deal.

Who else will be at fanfest on Saturday? I'm going with my Mom. Will probably just stand in the MASN line for a picture with Zach Britton, hit up the stadium tour dugout, and then go to lunch. It's gotten so crazy there!

Swim meet Saturday for me.  I have 2 tickets to FF if anyone is interested.  The clubhouse/dugout tour is cool.  The mob of people and the crazy long lines not so much.

Johnny Giavotella?

Well, let's start with the easy stuff:

You get say this, just like this, all season long.

It will become a knee jerk reaction and a fun distraction from the fact that:

He can't hit and doesn't get on base.

Though his fielding has gotten better, he can't really field and can only play second base.

For about a month or two he was a real spark plug - plays hard as hell every night.  But as the rest of the league figured him out and he failed to adjust, it just became more and more obvious that he's not MLB quality.

He's so average, that the Angels are willing to give Danny Espinosa a serious try.

Doubt that he'll unseat Flaherty.  Most likely he'll be minor league injury insurance.

for a pitcher  I think for sure....I have no idea about position players...

they should just give him a lot of time....but it sounds like he's damaged goods...

There were local team blackouts last year but I read they are going away this year BUT it requires you to have a cable subscription. So you cannot cut cable and get your Orioles without MASN if that's what you want to do unless you want to run through a proxy/vpn to conceal that you are in the Baltimore area. It will work on a PlayStation.

This is really more for total baseball nuts (Smackie) or people who live outside of their favorite teams local area (me). Unless picking up a lot of non-Nats/Os games appeals to you, I don't see why you'd get it.
