Orioles start program to let kids come to games for free

Every parent who buys a regularly priced upper-deck seat can get two free tickets in the upper deck for their kids. The promotion runs month-to-month, so tickets for games from March 31 to April 29 are available now.

This is cool.  Could have used it 10 years ago or so.

O's reportedly closing in on Cobb.

4 years, $60m? That's the second longest deal of any pitcher this off season. Surprised the O's of all teams went that long on a 30-year old.

Does the same deal work if you're two adults with one kid?

$57M with deferrals for each year.  Eclipses Ubaldo's deal.  Now let's hope his performance does as well.

All add Dylan Bundy to the list of people the Orioles should trade to start their rebuild, but I know they'll blow it.

At some point I may go back through this thread and make the list of all the people the O's should have traded when they could have and where they are now.

Watched the O's for the first time last night.  Sure, small sample size, but that's one tough team to watch.

They pitched well, only two mistake pitches all night, which was impressive.  Of course pitching around Trout worked well, until it didn't - one too many times to the well.

But only Machado can hit.  The defense is terrible, especially Alvarez, and I'm still not sure what Machado was doing with that throw behind the runner - a little league mistake.  One can almost sum up the season in the play where Alvarez knocked out Sisco - Sure, they got the out but it wasn't pretty and a bit costly.

I fear it's going to be a long season in Camden Yards.

The Orioles and Mark Trumbo, who was acquired last month in a trade with Seattle, avoided arbitration by agreeing to a $9.15 million deal. If you're keeping score at home, that's $12.85 million less than the annual value of the deal that the O's offered to Chris Davis, whom Trumbo may end up replacing at first base.

The Orioles Finally, Mercifully Shelved Chris Davis

It appears the Orioles will not, in fact, let Chris Davis have the worst season in baseball history.

Signed through 2023, paying him through 2032?

Nothing should be more frightening to Orioles fans than hearing "The Orioles are going over medicals of prospects involved in trade."

And not because it means Machado is being traded (that's a good thing), but because this is usually where things break down in Oriole land...

For the record, I'll take the Dodgers on this trade.
