Go Rays!

apparently they started to go, then thought better of it.

TB already has the stanley cup.  two championships in the same FL city would give me an aneurism.

After the Rays did the country a favor and beat the evil empire Yankees and cheating Astros I think we all should root for them...

The Lakers just won the NBA. This is a battle between two cities facing, like, 26 and 12 day title droughts.

I went to a game at Tropicana Field a few years ago, and the place was practically empty. I can't imagine Tampa being a hotbed for hockey fans (?)

There are a lot of northern transplants in Florida. I have a buddy who has had season tickets to the Bolts for like 5 years and he swears there is a legit, ravenous hardcore fanbase. (It probably helps the casuals come in that the team has been really great consistently for the last decade.)

well my dad lives in TB (actually Clearwater, across the bay) and he's got at least one buddy with whom he enjoys going to Lightening games... so they have at least 2 fans.  my dad jokes that over half the crowd at a TB home game are snowbirds, and i don't think he's joking.

If the Tigers hire AJ Hinch and the Angles hire Jeff Luhnow, it would be terribly ironic and I don't think either of us would care.

Totally pleased with the Hinch hire. To be honest, I'd prefer Luhnow replace Avila (who I still don't believe in AT ALL) over the Hinch hire.
