You’re burying the lede: Thompson has ten three pointers in a half.

Only three players in the history of the game have had back-to-back World Series games each with a homer and at least three RBI. They are Lou Gehrig, Babe Ruth, and Steve Pearce.

And in a contract year.  Good for him.

Aren't most years contract years with him?

Funny.  Hadn't thought of that, but actually Toronto signed him to a 2-year deal in 2016 - his first "long term" contract.  So, yeah, pretty much.

Steve Pearce resigns with the Red Sox, one year $6.25m.

He must have  REALLY liked it there ...

The only way Kemp, Puig, and Wood (plus a backup catcher and $7m) for Homer Bailey and two prospects makes sense, is if the Dodgers are making a move for a high priced outfielder.  Bryce Harper, anyone?

I hope so...

Personally I think the trade looks good for the Reds but I don’t know all the specifics

I do feel badly for McGriff.  Not only was the end of his career not appreciated because, at the time, it was compared to those around him on PEDs, but the same players and the logjam it created in the HOF ballots kept him out of the Hall from the voters powers.

Sure. the Baines Rule will now get him in from the veterans committee, but he deserved better.

In a nod to the O's, Mussina decides to not wear a Yankees hat in the HoF.

Did you see that piping hot think piece in the Philadelphia newspaper where columnist lectured his family that Halladay would've wanted to go in in a Phillies cap? It will take three weeks for my eyebrows to grow back after that singeing.

Not even going to read it - going straight to the comments!

Then double dip on the comments on Deadspin's requisite rehashing as well. Solid.
