great idea, sidehatch.

this might not be good news for you, seth - the parking lot sell-outs might not make up for the people who will be turned off by needing to pay for something they previously got free.

forgot to add: whether patrons are forced to pay you or someone else for parking, attending the 930 will become more expensive for no real improvement in the experience.  not that there is a whole lot you can do about it...

Well if the neighborhood becomes nicer that is a bonus.  Like if more restaurants open in the area you could get something to eat before the show.  Also less crime in the area is a bonus to me.

For me a rock club should be in a dump of an area.... think Electric Factory in Philly..

Actually I would prefer it if everywhere was nice and there were no "dumps of an area".  If there is a choice I would rather go to an area with less crime and had more people around.  Valet parking would be nice.

Hmmm business opportunity here!  Wonder who might jump on that and provide a service that seems to be wanted?  Wish I lived in the area, I would be all over this one.

It's not 1983 and we're not seeing Minor Threat or Marginal Man at the Wilson Center.

The lot fills up (or sells out in advance) for the better attended shows.

Like it or not, the Club is a business.  Premium products at premium prices tend to be very lucrative business decisions.

I am more worried about the Black Cat than 930.
Would be shocked if 930 goes anywhere anytime soon.

Doesn't the Black Cat own its space?  I believe that was the response last time there was an "OMG, the BlacK Cat lost its lease!" rumor (about a year or two ago).

That I didn't know.
Good to know!

I doubt either will go anywhere any time soon but I figured if anyone was vulnerable, it's the Black Cat but it sounds like that's not true.

If I had to choose, I'd rather be around window smashers than white collar criminals. Then again, I don't drive.
