Here is what I read into that
only 300 people buy a $75 ticket to see me in 20 towns is not a profitable venture when you have a 30 person entourage and expect every expense to be covered by the label, which means high end buses, all meals/drinks comped and nice hotels...that could be $200k off the top
Now get in a van and play 250 capacity clubs and sell tix for $35...I bet you'd come out on top
but a lot of these rock stars want to be treated like royalty and I have no sympathy for them
Yes the label has made a lot of money off them...but if you don't tour, you become irrelevant
was she born yesterday...this is exactly how the entertainment industry has treated it's products ...ahem, artists, for close to a century
