In this specific case my dad was serving overseas and the Argentine government gave him an education allowance to pay for his kids international private school (we couldn’t go to Japanese school) and he convinced himself we would be leaving soon, pocketed the money and kept us home for a year.

That’s hoarding

I don’t believe your example constitutes hoarding. I don’t believe you or anyone I know is a hoarder... other than my father I guess..if he is still alive
Well, this is a fascinating and sad look into Hutch's personal life. Y'all bumming me out -- can everyone go back to listing what song you're listening to or something? Shit is getting dire.

Obviously I am the only one of his three kids that still talks to him.. that has been the case for over 20 years
This is actually not obvious to those of us who only know you via a messageboard. Its not obvious at all.

Can we get a Julian-esque recap of the bubble concert?

It doesn't really lend itself to a longform review. It was cathartic -- the moment they opened with Race for the Prize both nights was just an explosion of bubbled humanity. It was unbelievably hot by the end. It was a cool experience but obviously its like watching a concert through a plasticy, sweaty fog. Same setlist both nights like 9 song main set and a three song encore.

Oklahoma City was surprisingly fun. I would do it again, even as crazy as it was flying halfway across the country on a Friday and turning around on Sunday morning and going back. Live music fucking kills and it raises the spirits.

On another downer note, today I learned that my supervisor's husband has onset dementia. Apparently he just sits in his chair watching tv all day  while she runs the office from home.(I told her that sounds like a typical Sunday for my dad when he was 35, watching the cars go around the track 200 times over the course of four hours.) No wonder she always seems drained when we talk.
