rom 1991 to 2003, Matthews predominantly focused on songwriting and performing with the Dave Matthews Band, which he started in Charlottesville, ...
Not DC...but kinda from a geographic perspective

Surely you guys need to mention the rich bluegrass history of the DC area.

Any Emmylou Harris certainly merits more consideration than  a cult figure like Tommy Keene!

Harris spent her childhood in North Carolina and Woodbridge, Virginia, where she graduated from Gar-Field Senior High School as class valedictorian.

First off I HATE all things Dave Mathews...starting with his fan base
#2 I did say 'Kind of'....it was a stretch, but dc really has such a limited pool of talent you need to travel 2-3 hours out
