Who thinks Ace is the greatest guitarist of all time?  He doesn't even make the Rolling Stone top 100 guitarists of all time list.
uh oh...you stepped in it big time!

I predict The Strokes play the entire Is this It album for its 20th anniversary in 2021 at MPP during the summer...
I predict this will make me feel so fucking old.

I put that Jane's Addiction album in the "What are you Listening to?" thread because I was reminded it was 30 years ago that I saw them open for Love and Rockets and record that album. The Joshua Tree was released 30 years ago, March 9.

And 30 years before that, Chuck Berry released his first album.

And it's The Strokes that make you feel old?
The 20th anniversary of Fight Night at The Joe yesterday made me feel old.

As I'm a few years younger than you, some of your references are not things I had an immediate connection to at the time they came out. I love Jane's Addiction but I don't have an experience seeing them live 30 years ago like you do so it doesn't have an emotional/time anchor in my head the way that first The Strokes album (as one example) does.

I was born in the 1960s.

I get that, but Julian is talking about an album that came in 2001 for Christ's sake.  2001!

I'm already working with students who have no memory of 9/11. I work at a university.
