I'm 49, but most of my friends have stopped going to shows. My main show buddy got taken out by lung cancer 2 years ago.

My main show buddy got takeN out by cancer too... but Sidehatch thankfully moved back to the area

It is such a pain trying to get people to go out to shows....

Another good friend had a kid 2 years ago and he is as good as dead..

Space you seem to still get out quite a bit!

My feelings on this are that you either have a partner that cares about you and how you find joy, peace, or whatever, or you don't really have a partner.

Since you mention me specifically, I'll reply by saying I typically go out (without my partner, often by myself which I'm comfortable doing) for a beer once every week or two and a show once every month or two. The fact that this is more than my partner chooses to go out is sometimes  a source of tension, sigh.
