Hope all is well. What's the best song they've played?

not only is my jingle/hold music a short loop, but it's distorted - someone clearly loved that little ditty, and decided we all needed to rock out to it.  sounds dreadful in several different ways.  had to turn the volume down on my phone.

Are you talking about Tower Records? If so, which one? I have an old friend who worked at one and for him it still seems to be one of the highlights of his life.

Cool beans. My friend was at the one in the Village for I don't know how long. He may have moved to another location uptown at some point....

Did anyone else make out like bandits when Tower has their going out of business sales? I nabbed a whole bunch of great CD's for 25 cents the last week. And ran into a fellow boardie while doing it.

Sorry i just realized this has nothing to do with being on hold. When that happens, I usually just put the phone in speaker and go about my work.

i shall now provide you with an update on my on-hold experience this morning, since i don't want you all losing sleep over this escapade:

i was on hold, on and off, for about 55 minutes.  every now and then someone would pick up the line, take my info, and promise to transfer me to the correct dept.  i had my phone on speaker and was doing work, so it normally it would have gone by really quickly... except for that lame distorted loop.  so painful.  after that almost-hour wait, i had to give up and join a work call.  so, there is a chance that little piece of auditory hell will be part of my future.
