what's the best festival lineup you've ever seen?

my opening bid:

I literally wouldn’t attend the first two days of this if the tickets were free. What are you all smoking?

not apples to apples

Lola had 8 stages, so you really couldn't catch all the good acts if you tried
and there was a LOT of filler/shitty bands in that lola IMO

It's hard to remember how big Triumph was back then. Probably the most forgotten act by now.

seriously?

no interest in seeing the clash, or van halen, or ANY of those other bands?  in 1983???

admittedly those bands don't pair well with pinot noir and pate, but still...

i attended this lolla.  t'was indeed excellent.  i caught 4 lollas in chicago (my mom was living there at time to a good excuse to visit every august) and this was my fav.  my first time seeing daft punk, remains one of (if not the) best concert experience evah.  throw in all the other acts and i left chicago with a huge shit-eating grin.

good comparison.  both were big in their day, but like disco they went overnight from the limelight to being ignored if not hated.  people can be so fickle.

What part of my time on this board led you to believe I like Van Halen or The Clash? I’m not Smackie.
