I guess what I’m thinking is that someone who identifies as having ‘conservative values’ would likely consider responsibility, problem-solving, a sense of morality and right and wrong as part of their core values.  These seem like values that would align with conservation and protecting the environment.

Even if you believe all opportunities and resources should be exploited - as a pro- business person would - it’s still doesn’t make sense to me why someone with conservative values wouldn’t do so in the most responsible way possible.

Yet environmental issues are generally considered left wing, liberal and extreme only

This is kind of what I was getting at...my brother-in-law does think you should, i don't know, recycle or bring usable bags to the grocery store.  He just doesn't think anyone should be forced to do it because of some crazy "Marxist" ideology.

My sister-in-law, on the other hand, brings plastic straws with her on vacation and hands them out at bars.   She also unfriended me on Facebook when I ask her to explain how leftists are using masking as a means of population control.  Whaddaya gonna do?

I had a very republican Grandfather in law, I remember him saying that the EPA was possibly the worst gov't program ever invented and did way more harm than good
and I'm like "so clean air and water are not a good result of those gov't actions"

I think most rightwing/conservative people may like the environment and want to protect it, but have been sold a bill of goods that the whole 'climate change industry' is just stealing money from tax payers to fund projects that haven't been proven and just waste money (and line the pockets of democratic doners?)

His response is "it's good business to not pollute the environment and businesses will adjust to protect themselves"
which is such BS.  It's only not good for business if you get caught dumping toxic waste in the water supply or someone like Erin B makes a big stink after hundreds get sick/die

who identifies as having ‘conservative values’ would likely consider responsibility, problem-solving, a sense of morality and right and wrong as part of their core values.

responsibility- corporations do no wrong and the free market is the solution to everything
problem-solving - problem is a lot of companies are getting taxed and regulated, solution hire lobbyists, fake sentients and buy enough congress people to convince the public that these taxes/regs are a bad idea....you know what it works, problem solved
He was convinced that the whole thing was a scam, that people like soros were sending money to university's to do 'fake environmental studies' and you get the results you pay for
also...this guy graduated from Harvard

a sense of morality and right and wrong as part of their core values - yikes, don't know where to start here.  But one thing I've observed it the right definitely has my team is always good and those on the other team are bad...and they do a fantastic job at keeping everyone in line and towing the party rhetoric.  I mean how do you get millions of born-agains to vote for a person who clearly has cheated on many wives, divorced many, openly engaged with prostitutes, how on earth could they back a guy like this.  Because morality has nothing to do with it.  This guy is on my team and his flaws are inconsequential as long as we get what we want (scotus/Roe)

What sucks about this, sadly they were correct
The way we do Recycling today...is broken, really bad.  it's not even breaking even.  it costs way more in resouces to collect and process the recyclables than any benefit.   Yes we are keeping tons of trash from filling the land fills.  but a pittance compared to the millions of tons of trash produced.
I mean two trucks have to come to get my trash/recycles.  I gotta imagine you would have to pick up 1 million cans of recyclables to cover the impact of 1 truck, to say nothing about all the other costs/environmental impacts down the line

only thing I can say is recycling is a jobs program, that it's doing well at. Lots of people work in that industry
but it's not saving the environment at all and there are lots of corps making tons of money off this

the plastic straw thing really was a joke too
such little actual impact and an easy target to show how it was kinda stupid
I think they are bad, but when you get your fast food in a plastic bag and styrofom containers...what is the dif of a gram of plastic the straw adds

Trust me, I would give my in-laws the stink eye all the time when they would throw their recyclables in the garbage
Now I feel like I was the one getting played

I think people just need to use less plastic/packaging is the real solution, but good luck with that

the corps won this battle, and they convinced a society that the consumer was the one responsible for this (you know who funded that ad campaign with the crying Indian... Keep America Beautiful, an organization backed by major packaging and drink manufacturers, not environmentalists)

She also unfriended me on Facebook when I ask her to explain how leftists are using masking as a means of population control.
I mean, it seems pretty obvious. If you require me to mask and I have to rely on just these gorgeous green-eyes which have only one setting -- locked and loaded -- and I can't 1-2-punch it with this baby face also being visible, of course my opportunities to procreate are going to decrease.

Now just imagine the situation for the rest of you.

Well sure, but she couldn't explain it.

only the best!

Minnesota Republican state Senator Justin Eichorn, co-author of the "Trump Derangement Syndrome" bill that just made headlines, was arrested yesterday in Bloomington for allegedly soliciting sex with a 16-year-old girl.

of course that bill was to  classify “Trump Derangement Syndrome” as a mental illness.

I mean, it's accurate, not sure we need an entry in the  DSM, but it appears to be the healthy response from a brain of a healthy individual

It describes the “syndrome” as Trump-induced general hysteria and “the acute onset of paranoia in otherwise normal persons that is in reaction to the policies and presidencies of President Donald J. Trump.”

My reaction to his policies and presidencies is to vomit, but I've been known to have some general hysteria at times

Someone should arrest him for wearing that bowl cut.

because legislators defining mental illness is a perfectly normal thing.

when i go to the ballot box, i'm thinking "i want this guy to diagnose me, not that other guy - he's a quack and i don't trust his approach to therapy!!!"
