I know I'm breaking the rules here and posting about a live match (I won't ruin the final score), but wait until you see the goals the Gunners give up today.  High comedy.  Wenger might quit tonight.

There's no way this link works in 12 hours but here you go.

Wenger is all over the ref, who, I might point out is the same ref from the France-Ireland game!  Theirry Henry used to do that all the time, Wenger...sometimes he got away with it, sometimes he didn't.

absolutely shocking. to be fair, its rare that the free kick from the back pass is restarted, but you have to have the defender stand right over it to make sure

I don't usually root for a labor strike, but I am in this case:

In no rush to exit, Donovan savors confidence-boosting run at Everton

it doesnt seem right to crow over injuries, and i got over rooting against he-who-will-not-be-named as much as i can, but you get what you pay for.

He absolutely was, as were the 30K+ Brits in attendance.

This would be a huge hit to his playing time, but I don't see Everton outbidding Chelsea if those rumors are true.

yeah, i dont like the rumored chelsea move either. moyes is the best manager for him, bar none. however, i dont see everton having the cash to meet mls's asking price

also, i'm gutted for holden. hope he can come back for the world cup, i really like his game. he was good for bolton in his last game

real madrid, the "real" is starting to sound like a joke, all these millions invested over the years have translated in six years in a row losing in the round of sixteen in the champions league. great, brilliant, huge failure. to read the press in madrid before and after the game is a fantastic experience.

i know many a tear will be shed here:

Report: David Beckham to miss World Cup with torn Achilles tendon

MILAN, Italy -- David Beckham will miss the World Cup and most if not all the Los Angeles Galaxy season after tearing his left Achilles' tendon Sunday while playing for AC Milan.

His international career for England is all but over. It remains to be seen how much he'll have left for the Galaxy and Major League Soccer.

"He will miss the World Cup for sure," a person familiar with the injury told The Associated Press, speaking on condition of anonymity because an official announcement had not been made. The person said it was likely the 34-year-old midfielder will play again.

This news bummed me out though I'm still not sure he would have made England's squad for South Africa.  Oddly, I wore his England Jersey for the first time in months the night before he picked up the knock....
