i was going to start my list with Wreckless Eric - "Whole Wide World" and then realized there are songs from him that are just as worthy if not better... i hate making lists

I concur. The hipster backlash against this band and revisionist history regarding that record are overwhelming, but it's one of my very, very favorite disks of the decade.

I'd agree it's up there, although Madonna is hands down their peak.  Too bad everything after STC has been crap.

yea madonna is fantastic man, but doesnt touch stc sonically
