The Last Shot, from Legendary Hearts. It may be harder NOT to find a drug reference in most of Lou's earlier material. Wise man though, and still buff I hear   ;)

"Lust for Life" is the best and best-known song from your days with Bowie in Berlin. How much of it is autobiography?

It's William Burroughs, from The Ticket That Exploded and The Soft Machine. I loved that Dr. Benway line: "Love, what is it anyway? It's just like when you hypnotize a chicken." And there was Johnny Yen, the Venusian green boy -- he's gonna sell you the love con. He'll go through your closet while you're staring into space. I was mixing that with personal experience.

i interpret that song as being about someone who wants to be kept in check and doesn't want to get too full of himself: "if you see me getting mighty, if you see me getting high - knock me down, i'm not bigger than life".

Okay. Probably about 40% of the Raggae songs out there. LOL. They all run together in my head. Bet GGW could make a list a mile long. He's our Raggae Dub Master.

Hahaha I had gigs upon gigs of dub and reggae in college and got bored with most of it after I stopped smoking pot regularly. Same with just about all of the jammy stuff I had.    :o

Isn't that kind of like on the Simpsons when they go to Duff Gardens and the teen band Hooray for Everything does a very g-rated version of "Walk on the Wild Side"? Maybe they could do "Love for Life".
