don't really know the National...but as for the Walkmen and The Impossible Shapes, I highly recommend both.  The Walkmen are former Jonathan Fire*Eater members, and they play somewhat similar arty rock with post-punk influences and great, dramatic ian curtis/early bono -esque vocals.  
 
 The Impossible Shapes sound just like the description and are excellent.  I'll try to make it Wednesday...

debating this show, got the new walkmen, and its pretty damn good. being not too expensive, and at the 930 are pros, but i don't know if the walkmen are worth a school night trip.
