Amen brother. "Dazzle Ships" was an amazing record and their last true great one. It's so hard to believe a band that was once so artistically inclined became so completely preoccupied with cheese pop. Oh well... [/b]

I don't know...I kind of like "Junk Culture".  Yeah, it's cheesy dance-pop - but it's good cheesy dance-pop.

kosmo vinyl:
yeah they did the "cheese pop" singles better than most... at least they didn't go the Modern English route where they went from one hit single to unlistenable art wank...

Yank:
....and since Atomic Kitten has disbanded, Andy McCluskey needs to earn some dosh somehow.

I always thinks it's interesting how some people just "miss" certain bands.  I, for example, am completely unfamiliar with O.M.D.'s catalogue outside of the hits and videos...  Now, why?  I have no idea.  I listened to that genre back in the day, probably have a lot of albums from similar bands, etc.  I just missed 'em.  Kinda like Wilco or Weezer today...

OMD just reissued their first 3 albums in remastered editions. I highly recommend "Architecture in Morality", which is their third and arguably their strongest (along with the experimental "Dazzle Ships")...
