markie - did you buy the Gateway plasma? or are thinking about it - some of the reviews I've seen are not that great...

No Markiella got the ring, and some earrings too, recently.

Which Gateway model is it in the rec room, there is a $300 more expensive model that is supposed to be super bright.

No,

but our CRT is all funny colours from getting the speaker to close to it. It is supposed to automatically degauss too. But right now I cant tell a Jordan from a Ferrari.

So we will need a new one, but I am all spent up just now, with the car and computer and earrings and digital camera....... And not getting paid for a month.

I haven't got to the point for trawling reviews. What point are you at?

I'm not sure.  I'm going back there tomorrow so I'll check.

I hope not, but it would make me laugh if they did.  He always had a knock or two with United.

not sure exactly which point I'm at - I am seriously considering working for Best Buy for a couple of weeks around Xmas to get the discount though!

I like  this one, but they all seem to have their pros and cons and prices are likely to come down alot this year - the 50" Pioneer was 10k at Best Buy last year and is now down below 8k I think

Ideally I could do with something smaller, but a 26 inch LCD is as expensive as a plasma. But LCD prices are falling all the time. I guess I will hang on for another year and see what has happened then.
