*sniff*  Ah, the end of the era continues.  I'm so glad I saw two of the Ramones on tour back in, what was it?, 1997 or so.  They were still horrible musicians that made a great sound.  I miss that.

Yup, I saw them twice also. Once with Social Distortion back in 1992 and once with White Zombie in 1995.

The Ramones were the first band I ever saw in a club. (7/1/84 @ The Wax Museum).  That show took my love of music to a completely different level.

Wow that is really sad news.  Cheers to one of my favorit guitarists of all time.  What can you say about the Ramones?  What can you say about Johnny and his guitar?  True icons in my little world, that's for sure.

Were they any better than Madonna?

I saw them four times, but sadly the last time was when they "opened" for White Zombie at Patriot Center.

It was funny though when joey came on the mic with "We're supposed to say something here about DC101. 1-2-3-4 . . ." and ripped into the next song. Classic.

You see, this is why I should wait until lunch to read the posts.  This will bum me out all day.  It's no way to start a morning, I tell ya.
