A good mix of small ball and big ball chased Piniero after giving up 8 runs through 4 innings.
 
 Leading 8-0, Wash got hit pretty bad, but with the large cushion, nobody was very concerned.

And I'll change my opinion on this.  Green is now 2-13, and while it's early he is doing some very uncharacteristic Shawn things.  He threw his bat three times last night (once after a K and twice after popping out)- I don't think I've seen Shawn throw his bat but 10 times in his career.  He's clearly more frustrated than usual, and I'm guessing the added pressure is from the late move to 1B.

yeah, i wouldn't blame the pitching staff at all. . i mean, when the first 1-2-3 inning is done by the back-up catcher, there's nothing wrong there.  he he. . .course, the nl central is all messed up right now with the astros, cards and cubs under .500 right now.

Well, we weren't going to go 162-0, now were we?
 
 We're still on pace for 122 wins, so I feel good about that.
 
 And I don't feel so good about the Ortiz/Sele dilemma for the #4 starter.  John Lackey will pitch a gem tomorrow, however.  If you need a spot starter tomorrow for fantasy, he's your guy.
