I don’t know that I would agree with that about Sweet FA. I don’t think it’s at all EDM or what have you…more like after Hot Trip to Heaven’s failure they tried to go back to what they had done before.

It’s a pretty dark album. Underrated. I plan to get the vinyl and cd.

Speaking of David J the price on the RSD expanded 2LP reissue of Urban Urbane finally got to what I wanted and I bought it for $18. The track Space Cowboy (with Sonic Boom!) is fantastic and should have been on Hot trip to heaven…sort of wasted on this solo record.

Might be time to call it

'Sally Cinnamon' is acknowledged as the first release in the style which would come to be recognized as the Stone Roses' trademark sound.

The EP is now released for the first time as a 12" single mix, all  B Sides + live tracks.

Pre-order on red vinyl.

40 quid for stuff that was been reissued to the nth degree

New Queens album “In Times New Roman”

Out June 16th

on the now prerequisite, at least in the UK, multiple colored vinyl variations of which there are five.. with one store over there selling all four colored ones as a bundle

just check also available in the US in the same five colors... $38.23 for one of  color double LPs and 33.89 for black double LPs.

Matador is also selling the vinyl bundle for $200.48

definitely one for the vinyl stupidity twitter feed.

speaking of vinyl stupidity:

Half of the fans buying vinyl in the US don't even own a record player

this article should make smakie doubt humankind more than he already does... or at least give him heart palpitations:

The burning question, then, is this: why are increasing numbers of fans buying vinyl records if they're not actually planning to listen to them at home? One explanation might be that vinyl provides fans with a physical token of their allegiance to a particular band or artist, scratching an itch that the ephemeral and transitory experience of digital streaming cannot reach by itself.

There's no doubt that streaming offers consumers a more convenient method of listening to music, but it's clearly failing to provide some with an entirely satisfactory experience. Perhaps these listeners are using vinyl as a way to bring a new dimension to the experience of music streaming, making the music they love feel more tangible in a busy musical landscape dominated by ever-changing playlists and avalanches of new releases arriving each day.

For the list price of an album in the early 80s, you can get ONE hard plastic (PVC) clear record sleeve.

Albeit somewhat expensive, it's not a bad idea for some choice ones you want out and let people look at

or display them on the wall
so much better than those frame ones that were all the rage. There was always a 1/2 inch of the art around the whole thing. Words/images would get cut off

I saw him at a record store a couple of weeks ago. He is doing fine.

so is this an increase in units sold or that the cost of vinyl has gone up 21.7% ;)

btw it's hilarious that the cost of vinyl keeps climbing but the cost of a lowly CD is stagnant

i.e the list on the double LP version of  Joni Mitchell At Newport is $36.98 verses CD $14.99

it's a very labor-intensive process and people like Adele, metalica and taylor are consuming all the bandwidth
CD's I think is highly robotic (I think except for putting in the paper sleeve)

Wasn't I hearing that we are at peak lacquer or something like there is only one supplier left

CDs have increased a little bit. I'm finding that most new releases from big labels cost a dollar or two more than in recent years.
