Garcia Peoples- tonight
Frances Quinlan/CalexiWine-tomorrow
Alvin Ailey-Saturday

Bagley, unfortunately didn't get to the venue until show time. I looked around for anyone that could've been old enough to have seen Bob Marley twice and admittedly, there were more than a few!

Oh man, sorry I missed you.  I was holding up the wall in front of the bar.  So what did you think?  Was that anything like what a Phish show feels like?

I found the show enjoyable, but that comparison can't even be made... Not even in the same league.

On a much smaller scale, of course.  Obviously these are very young musicians trying to find their way in the jammy/psychedelic music scene.  For the most part it felt very improvisatory/jazzy with some Meat Puppets thrown in as opposed to the folkier Grateful Dead orientation. Just wondering...

Yeah... I get it, can't compare somewhat of a garage band to a band playing arenas... but at any rate, didn't get a Phish vibe from them at all other than the fact that their songs were long.

I'm admittedly not familiar with their catalog, but every song seemed like an improv odyssey and they could probably benefit with a bit better vocals and a few polished five minute rockers. At any rate, I'd see them again, but I think they're more in the camp of what you said around Meat Puppets/Yo La Tengo/Ryley Walker/Chris Forsyth/Steve Gunn vs a hippie jamband.

Was thinking of doing Lee Fields for Valentine's, but it's looking like one of those cold nights where it's better to stay at home...
