I don't have a problem with reunion shows, I just haven't seen a lot of good ones. Urge Overkill were a good example of a big disappointment. With albums of can't-miss hits like Saturation and Supersonic Storybook, they opened with two mid-tempo songs that the crowd (and I) weren't familiar with before breaking out Positively Bleednig, which made the crowd go nuts. Then it was another group of new, mid-tempo songs and the energy in the room just died.
First time I saw X's reunion shows (with the Fags opening), they were so good. High energy, sounded great, excellent show. But then a year later (with Rollins Band opening, who were great), they were terrible, with Exene phoning it in so hard it was pathetic.
But then Scratch Acid came and obliterated my expectations. Goddamn that was a good show.
