As it hasn't been stated in rather a long while, I'll proffer this time -honoured maxim:

  WILCO SUCKS !

At 5.5 ft tall, your wife will be one of the tallest people at a Wilco show, so i wouldn't worry if I were you.

The current Wilco audience is comprised entirely of short men with short penises. A few of them are able to drag their significant others along to shows that they have no interest in. Yes, I know some might consider me part of this demographic, but alas, I am not rich enough to be a current Wilco fan.

So, in conclusion, you should be fine.

Penis size, of course, corresponds to short height. Unless you are Yao Ming. In his case, his small penis corresponds to being Asian.

I'm pretty sure you can only leave and come back if you're over 21.

that is not true.  on most nights, anyone with a stamp may come and go.  on the rare occasion that we do not allow re-entry, there will be signs posted at the exit.

I've been to shows where people were just as in the show in the balcony as on the floor...

at the massive attack show, the floor was unbearable because of the incessant chatter.  upstairs, the sound was better and people were much more respectful of the performers.  had i stayed only downstairs, i would have left the show disgusted.

i've had great experiences both up and downstairs, but i generally prefer the floor near one of the bars - however, make sure the crowd is really there for the show and not for the scene.
