The new Malkmus is excellent...I highly recommend it.

I'm going to have to pick up the B&S, too...

I had huge expectations for Face the Truth, and I'm more than satisfied.  He ran through a lot of the new tunes at SXSW and they sounded like winners then.

I thought SM's eponymous release was solid, but a little sterile in parts.  Pig Lib was a huge step up, bringing the back some of the weirdness.

I think Face the Truth is the most "Pavement-like" of his solo stuff.  It's kind of a cross between Wowee Zowee and Terror Twilight.

I can't wait for the 6/4 show at the Black Cat.

and just saw the first video for the shout out louds on subterranean, it was for that song that sounds a lot like YYY's "Y control" ... think it's called "the comeback" ... it was really good ...

The Gorillaz was a big suprise to me. I did really like the first one, and the dub record, but I didnt see this project as one that would be pushed to new areas and growth. I was way off, the record is really well put together and has some great thought into it, without forgeting what made it cool in the first place. If your into them, check it out. Really good.

Yeah, but from what I hear the "new" cd is just a collection of their ep's packaged together for an International Release.  Which doesn't really affect me since I just discovered them at Coachella, but just thought I'd mention that.
