Oy, what a great music town.  There are tons of venues, and great bands nearly always go through Portland.  Wow, bitchin'.  I'm glad you're moving post-GBV, because what would a GBV show be without p011@rd?

good luck in portland, man. i love that city, and it has a better music community than dc. i've been out there a few times and always get a great vibe, and if i ever leave this coast, that's where i'm heading.

Portland gets 921 mm rain per year, DC gets 912 mm rain per year.

that's because most of the rain in portland is from a constant drizzle, whereas the rain here tends to be torrential, especially in the summer. and the weather is pretty much always between 50 and 70 out there.

thanks, I have thought that same thing for a while

as far as rain goes, I have been told it will start raining everyday in November and will stay that way through the winter into the spring

I am sure me and my sunny disposition will stop all that

I could totally deal with that. That's why I'll be retiring to Seattle in about 30 years.

I'm thinking about moving to Portland, too, in the next year or so. I was just there a couple of weeks ago and fell in love with the place.

Maybe we were there at the same time? I was there for the Maximo Park concert. I wasn't impressed with the Roseland. But as I said, I loved the city. Keep in touch. I might want to ask you a bunch of questions once you are there.
