For future endeavors, though, if the party in charge DOES happen to decide that, for whatever reason, somebody s/he had told was going to show is not going to show anymore, s/he had better contact them.
I can confidently tell you that fashion is a shitstorm of work, more work than almost any other profession. You may underestimate, but sewing stuff, and sewing stuff well, takes TIME. I am still in school and when I have stuff that I need to sew, all of my free time, and most of the time I should probably spend sleeping, is devoted to work on those pieces.
We didn't even need to know WHY we all of a sudden we weren't showing anymore (though, we still would like to know). But someone taking the courtesy to drop me a five-second "Hey, we don't want you showing anymore" would have saved my design team hours of work and money. If Svetlana, who I barely know, had randomly woken up one morning and decided she didn't like us anymore, she could have at least taken responsibility and told us to stop working. Because until I am told otherwise, if I need to work on stuff, I am going to work on stuff because I am a responsible designer and I don't fuck around.

Knowing the person who *was* in charge, I'm sure it wasn't malicious. that's funny, because my design team sent in very adequate examples, were told quite eagerly that we were showing, and then didn't hear anything about it until the flyers came out and we weren't on them. we wasted a month altering garments and working on headbands to sell at the event. and the only reason i am stooping to having this discussion on a MESSAGE BOARD is because we've been trying to contact you guys for months and no one even had the DECENCY to tell us that, for whatever reason, we weren't showing...
