Yeah, for now, it's invitation-only. Gmail is still in beta-test mode.

same here. but then again i get at least 200 pieces of spam a day.
 
 can you transfer over address books easily? i don't want to have to enter 250 new email addresses.
 
 my friends who have gmail, love it.

I have a buch of gmail invites if anyone wants one PM me with an email addy to send them too.  Just FYI Yahoo and Hotmail (and others prolly)forward the invites to Spam folders (guess they are afraid of the competition!)

just remember that GMail will serve up ads by scanning your e-mails for key words.  So yeah, a Google bot's reading your e-mail.  Some folks won't be bothered by that, others will.
