Jett recently upped her status in the dyke community when she bought season tickets to the WNBA's Liberty home games at New York's Madison Square Garden, where she sat center court, not far from Rosie O'Donnell. The rocker was there for every game, leaping out of her seat and cheering whenever Liberty scored, gawked at by the scores of lesbians who attended games, hauling along binoculars not to get a better glimpse of the players, but to watch Jett and other celebrities in the crowd.

Last season she made her fandom official by making a music video of "Let's Go Liberty," a song she wrote in the team's honor and standing up to dance along each time it flashed on the huge screens suspended above the court. In October, she posed with Liberty star player Teresa Weatherspoon for Time Out New York. The photo caption summed up both women's contributions to the Big Apple before concluding, "It's no wonder both have become inspirations for young women--and icons to lesbians of all ages. Rock on."
