Even her schmaltzier non tropicalia records -like this- have wonderful moments. What a voice. After Elis Regina my favorite Brazilian female singer.  That tropicalia stuff Gal did about 1968-1972ish is the bees knees.

Beautiful

Indeed. Now would it kill them to do a real US tour rather than just a promo tour?

I had forgotten Elephant Stone wasn’t on the original debut album. Obviously it was added to the US cd and then Fools gold was added on subsequent US cd issues. Will have to check my LP copy.

Anyways it’s on this…

New Order - demos 1980. Recorded September 7, 1980 so less than four months after Curtis died but not less than two months as previously believed. All this stuff has been issued officially on the definitive Movement box. Stephen Morris sings two, Hook who can’t sing butchers Dreams never end and Sumner sings a previously unreleased song about Ian called “Homage” which was performed live two times - also in September 1980 including once in Boston- before being binned.

I find the September 1980 through PCL (November 1982) period fascinating.
