It’s a shame he became so unhappy and troubled….I don’t know if it was Anselmo’s death, the weed leading to panic attacks, his difficulty negotiating fame, accepting himself, God or what but after Wham he just seemed to get steadily more troubled. Maybe he would have been happier as a bricklayer. Didn’t Frank Sinatra write an editorial chastising him for his failure to appreciate his situation?
I think he was the finest singer of his generation. His versions of Somebody to love or duet with Elton on Don’t let the Sun go down on me are goosebump inducing.
