Btw, did you order that 93MilllionMilesFromTheSun CD? Mine is currently over the Atlantic. Can't flipping wait for that one to arrive! Have you heard their promo CD or anything from it? Of course, I've got several cuts in regular rotation on Air Atlantic Underground. Rob and Nick sent out these full length promos last summer to a limited amount of friends and fans. I was lucky enough to get one as most within our circle were. We all placed that promo in our best of 2008 releases because it was so amazingly good. Can't wait to hear what they did with the official release. That promo was jam packed full (almost an hour's worth!) of very good music. If I know we will see each other sometime, I can give you a CD-r. Because of a certain trust factor I need to maintain, I absolutely never, ever let promos out but since they freely gave these out to the gang, I know they won't mind. You're gonna love it!

93MMFTS showed up at my doorstep the other day. As expected, it's a very pleasant piece of work. Over an hour's worth of pure fuzzy Gaze.

Still too soon to say for sure but I kind of think the promo is just a tad better. Of course, that may be just that I need to give it a few more listens to fully absorb what all it has to offer. Though the selections are a bit different, they are very, very close is quality. It's just that in its newness, the promo has that edge by a nose. Seems someone else said the same thing, if I recall correctly. I'm also surprised how many different songs there are between the two. In fact, one of my favorites from the promo isn't even on the official.

Between 93MMFTS and the new Spc-Eco, I'm set for awhile.  ;D

He's put out his fair share of cheese, but still this man is one of the few I'd call a musical genius.

Any fans of Wu Tang's 36 Chambers and Forever should definitely check this out. Practically every song is awesome. Been playing it non-stop the last couple weeks, and I'm not exactly the biggest hip-hop fan.

Mostly a bunch of Leonard Cohen, Animal Collective and Springsteen to get ready for those upcoming shows, but I'm taking a bit to listen to:

Not bad...definitely hooked me more than Sonic Nurse or Rather Ripped, but still not essential.  Still, will I ever stop buying Sonic Youth albums?

i also cannot stop with the sonic youth.  i heard they, yet again, have a new member to "free up" kim and allow her to "expand" or some such.  i find myself drifting into listening to everything i have from nirvana now.  i like

right now.

I just got the Vandelles LP Del Black Aloha.
Reminds me a bit of APTBS.  Good, fuzzy tunes. Lots of reverb.

 I think the only way to get it right now is to sign up for their email list.

My first show at the old club was the Damned with Scream opening.  Incredible.  Enjoy tonight!  Who is in the band these days?

According to Wikipedia:

    * Dave Vanian − vocals, theremin (1976-1978, 1978-present)
    * Captain Sensible − guitar (1978-1984, 1989, 1991, 1996-present); bass (1976-1978)
    * Monty Oxy Moron − keyboards (1996-present)
    * Stu West − bass (2005-present)
    * Pinch − drums (1999-present)

Kind of disappointing Rat Scabies and Brian James aren't around these days, but they've pretty much had a rotating lineup from the very beginning.  It's still gonna rock.

Here's the new Future of the Left album for those who might be interested.
FotL are from Ireland and feature 2/3 ex-McLusky members, and is very much in
the same realm as McLusky, so you know it's good stuff!

Passion Pit- "Manners" streaming on my space and out next week.  Pure synth-pop perfection.  Great debut.  This and the new Phoenix will make perfect summer listening.

I've been listening to the 8 songs from Tori Amos' new one that are worth listening to. When she's good, she's GOOD. This time she's way more electronic/trip-hop influenced, so there are more synths and beats and what not.
