So far, so good.  It's a little hard to give it a full assessment at office-volume levels, but a couple of the songs sound like they should be barn burners in the live setting.

 Great 60s-era-garage power pop record. Singer sounds a bit like a young Mick Jagger, and the guitars, while jangly, rock. Songs are catchy and really upbeat.

 Bought this one based just on the cover. And it sounds just like it looks. Pretty pop, in the vein of Essex Green, Francoise Hardy or somber Cardigans.

I'm listening to this band called the Arcade Fire. I found one of their albums on a sharing site on the web. They sound like a less talented, less interesting version of Devotchka.

Could the band itself even have predicted what would transpire of the Arcade Fireâ??s Win Butlerâ??s suggestion to the band that they take on â??Last Beat of My Heart?â?? The end result is the center-piece of the EP, a grand and soaring take on the song; a testament to the bandâ??s true unique ability to transform nearly anything via a sound only DeVotchKa can create, and perhaps a look at the epic nature of where the bandâ??s own recordings may move in the future.
