The Monkees - Good Times

This is their 2016 comeback album produced by Adam Schlesinger and it's a seriously fun 60s throwback listen.

The credits are on this a bit crazy as  beyond Micky, Micheal and Peter, it's got two of the FOW members on it Jody on Guitar and Brian on Drums.  Plus for your complete That Think You Do connection Mike Viola plays on  it as well.

It also has songs by Andy Partridge, Rivers Cuomo, Ben Gibbard and Paul Weller on it.

My Schlesinger deepdive yesterday included a podcast where he talked through the Monkees "Christmas Party" record.

How is it?

Quite appropriate for the times.

Pretty standard M. Ward offering.

Meat Puppets - No Joke

Not at all as bad as it’s been made out to be

In fact Taste of the Sun is pretty killer

It’s just that their 15 minutes were up I guess

Not even sure they ever really got 5 minutes
I think more people said they liked them then went to their shows and bought their albums

No they definitely had 5 minutes circa Backwater
Then KURT covered three puppets songs in a row on unplugged which is all anyone listened to in 94

Then their album No Joke totally flopped in 95

Pigs Pigs Pigs Pigs Pigs Pigs Pigs - Viscerals

A bit heavier then my usual fare,  but different times... Lots of heavy 70s rock influences here, Black Sabbath et al

New Thievery Corporation - Symphonik
11 classic backed by a full symphony orchestra.
Very classy.

The Dandy Warhols first album

I really like their early sound even if the songs are pretty half baked

I will always remember being blown away by them opening for Love and Rockets at the 930
