Denise Johnson  - Where Does It Go

Denise Johnson know for her vocals on a variety of recordings, passed away prior to her debut album being released.  It's a simple affair of acoustic guitar and her amazing voice.

Kevin Rowland - My Beauty

His album of covers with the at the time an interesting choice of photo on the front cover... Not even sure this was ever released in the US... and in this day and age the cover would probably been seen a little less revealing... based on the reactions I saw during the listening party for it, it appears to be equally loved and maligned at the same time

#TimsTwitterListeningParty never underestimate a trooper

David Bowie- Scary Monsters

I think this album is a perfect blending of art-rock and pop

All of Good Music to Avert the Collapse of American Democracy, Volume 2 that 77 track monster

so far nothing is jumping out at me as being really great, volume 1 seemed a better collection... but it was for a good cause and maybe if i listen to it in chunks I'll find some gems

I've been told that I'm not allowed to play "The Hold Steady or any of your banjo bullshit" on our car ride tomorrow. "Only electronic music, music made by black people, or music made by women."

you should check out Bette Smith -  The Good, The Bad and the Bette as it meets a couple of those criteria, plus you can sneak in a little Drive-By Truckers as it's produced by their bassist and Patterson makes an appearance.  nice rockin' soul on that album..

Thanks Kosmo. I've been meaning to check that one out, as it seems up my alley.

My daughter's taste is pretty much limited to gangster rap, and my wife wants to be the "cool mom" and listen to it with her. So I doubt rockin' soul will cut it with them...

both your wife and your daughter are OK with all the "bitches" and "hoes" being thrown around?  and the violence?

or has 2020 gangsta rap changed, and now it's about tai chi, putting on masks and protecting global climate?
