History apparently starting in 1991 with soundscan... that’s when you couldn’t find anything on vinyl cause it had been phased out

I would bet around 1983 vinyl LPs were selling in the tens of millions per week in a country 50% smaller in terms of population

I have held off on this one for 17 years

The end of Steely Dan..sort of kept it in my back pocket as am wont to do

Today at the edge of the western world in 2020 on the cusp of 50 it’s hitting the spot..a little more understated than its predecessor the much ballyhooed comeback album -but ultimately unsatisfactory- Two Against Nature-  hey kids can you believe it won best album Grammy for 2001? course the Dan became the soundtrack for my life this year...I am glad they cut this even though it’s clearly the most pointless record in their oeuvre..an unnecessary postscript... they realized this and never tried again...rarely was an album more aptly titled
