Sorry, I just thought you guys would like to hear about Amanda....
Smackette is a bigger Stellastarr* fan than I am and she was the driving force behind going to the show. I liked their debut, but found the second album underwhelming.
The place was packed - I'm guessing around 300 for a 275 capacity venue. It was as crowded as I had ever seen it.
They openend with a rousing rendition of "Lost in Time" and I thought we were in for a lot of the second album. I couldn't have been more wrong. They took the keyboard off the stage and ripped through the majority of the self titled debut, played a few songs off "Harmonies for the Haunted" and even sprinkled a few new tracks throughout, one of which can be heard on their myspace page:
"Warchild". They rocked a lot harder than they did on their album and played for about an hour and a half.
Tracks I remember(incomplete and in no particular order):
Lost in Time
Moongirl
Sweet Troubled Soul
Warchild
No Weather
in the Walls
Pulp Song
Jenny
A Million Miles
Damn this Foolish Heart
My Coco
Somewhere Across Forever
And some new ones that didn't yet have titles. Expect a new album this year.
Loud as hell and fun, I had a great time, and not just because I stood right in front of Amanda. You guys are in for a treat.
