Back to important topics

Although I hate not to see my team here, I still think this is the best competition in sports. Who do you think will make it to the next round? Lokomotiv is already 2-0. My candidates are:

Arsenal, Deportivo, R. Sociedad, Manchester U., Stuttgart, Bayern Munich, Milan and Lokomotiv.

 Celta  -   Arsenal
 Deportivo  -   Juventus
 R. Sociedad  -   Lyón
 Oporto  -   Manchester U.
 Stuttgart  -   Chelsea
 Bayern Múnich  -   Real Madrid
 Sparta Praga  -   Milán
 Lokomotiv  -   Mónaco

You should have put the "unfortunately" next to the Madrid choice, they are just a bunch of arrogants.

Celta 2 - Arsenal 3
 Deportivo 1 - Juventus 0
 R. Sociedad 0 - Lyón 1
 Oporto 2 - Manchester U. 1
 Stuttgart 0 - Chelsea 1
 Bayern Múnich 1 - Real Madrid 1
 Sparta Praga 0 - Milán 0
 Lokomotiv 2 - Mónaco 1

Arsenal, Deportivo, R. Sociedad (they will score soon), Manchester United (tough game), Chelsea, Bayern (I hope Real Madrid suffers from not having Ronaldo and Roberto Carlos), Milan and Lokomotiv.

I'm just thankful there's a couple of weeks away before the semis...because if the game was this week they'd slaughter us going by the way the two teams are playing at the moment.

Fuck, they made it to quarter finals.

 Oporto
 Deportivo
 Lyon
 Chelsea
 Madrid
 Milan
 Monaco
 Arsenal

I guess it's going to be Madrid, Arsenal or Milan, with chances for Deportivo La Coruna.

Sorry Barcelona but....

COME ON MADRID!!! COME ON MADRID!!!

Just so Beckham can rub it in Fergusons face.

Evidently Uniteds second goal that was disallowed was an awful decision by the linseman....Arsenholes have requested he run the line for the semi-final at Villa park.

Even if United had gone through they wouldn't have gone all the way. It's just not their year. I hope they can get it out of their minds in time to win the FA cup because it's all they have left to play for.

Is 1-0 considered a slaughter in Soccer since most games end up 0-0 going into the shootout?

Actually, for the same reason you say Go Madrid, I have to go Go Arsenal. I hope they beat Madrid. I think they have the best player on earth, Henry, he is just the best player I have seen in a lot of time.

I can't stand Beckham (and I think he is not that good), I can't stand Ronaldo, can't stand Guti, can't stand Michel Salgado, can't stand most of them. But most of all, I can't stand Zidane, he is supposed to be a leftist guy and he is playing for the most fascist team in Europe. I just hope they lose in the next round.

By the way, in the UEFA Cup tomorrow, Barcelona plays Celtic in Glasgow. The articles these days in Barcelona about the rivalry between Celtic and Glasgow Rangers are really interesting.

Mankie, it was an awful call.  3 Porto Jerseys played Scholes onsides by a good 3 feet.  The linesman really blew it.

I knew it would come back to haunt United too, who really put up the best defensive effort I've seen since Rio's suspension.  So close man, so close.  Djemba-Djemba was magnificent in mid-field too until he broke a rib.

I was not-do shocked that they called the foul that led to the eventual goal (it was slight nudge on a high ball).  The ref let Alberto Carols dive left and right, but gave him the free kick everytime, then Ronaldo gets fouled, has to be stretchered off and to no surprise, no call.  It was very frustrating to watch.

I froze the replay of the off-sides call on my TiVo and left the TiVo on overnight just so I could remember that United did it right.

Yes, interesting to see how much they hate each other. By interesting I don't mean that I like this way of hatred, it is just that as I was reading the articles I became more and more curious to read more about the origins of both clubs and how the rivalry has evolved over the years. I hate religion, so it is even more interesting to see how religion (I doubt today it plays a big role, I guess it's more the identification with Ireland or Britain) could shape this rivalry so much, at least at the beginning.
